Xavier's Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) - Jamshedpur has been ranked by national magazines as one of the top 5 business schools in India. The campus is nestled in the city of Jamshedpur with its own hills to the west (Dalma hills) and the Subarnarekha river. FACTS

* XLRI was founded in 1949 by Fr. Quinn Enright, S.J. in the Steel City of Jamshedpur. Fr. Enright visualized XLRI to be a partner in the liberation and development journey of the independent India with a vision of "renewing the face of the earth".
* The College has a centrally air-conditioned Library divided into sections for reading, book stocking and a section where students are free to access the computers and other required electronic gadgets in their curriculum.
* The Institute focuses a big deal on the IT infrastructure. A number of workshops and seminars are organized for the benefit of the students as well as for faculties to keep them updated with the changing trends in the IT industry.
* Sports is taken seriously in the institute; to encourage students different courts have been developed along with a fully equipped gym available to all students.
* There are four buildings for students residence, two each for men and women respectively. The total capacity of each building is approximately 100 students.
* The Institute has a fully equipped auditorium with a total capacity of 150 students.

1. BM: 2-Year Post Graduate Programme in Business Management.
2. PMIR: 2 -Year Post Graduate Programme in Personnel University are eligible to apply.
3. FPM: 4-Year Fellow Programme in Management.
4. 1-Year General Management Programme.


Eligibility:

1. For BM and PM & IR programmes, graduates who have completed three years of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in any discipline recognized by a University or Deemed University are eligible to apply. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2008 may also apply.
2. For GMP, minimum 5 years of relevant experience after graduation (10+2+3) as on March 31, 2008 is required.

XLRI Prospectus can be obtained from the branches of SBI listed below for Rs. 800/- (Nonrefundable). Enclose the third copy of XLRI/Bank pay-in-slip along with the XLRI PA Form that can be downloaded from the website- www.xlri.edu

A candidate can apply for more than one programme, but not more than three programmes. If he/she intends to apply for more than one programme, an additional amount of Rs. 500 (Total Rs. 1300/-) towards XLRI Prospectus has to be paid.

One can also obtain the XLRI Prospectus by sending a non-refundable amount of Rs. 850/- or Rs. 1350/- (for applying more than one programme) in the form of DD drawn in favour of XLRI Jamshedpur payable at SBI, XLRI Branch (4660) along with the XLRI PA form that need to be downloaded. FAQ:-XAT 2008

1. When are XAT 2008 results out? Results will be available on the website from 31st January 2008.

2. When does the Registration for XAT 2008 Start? Registration for XAT 2008 start on 01-Sep-2007

3. What is the last date for submitting XAT 2008 Application form? Last date is 3rd December 2007

4. What is the eligibility criteria for taking XAT 2008? A bachelors degree under 10+2+3 system recognized by a university or a deemed university is our eligibility criteria.

5. I have less than 50% in graduation, am I eligible to apply for XAT? Yes, you are eligible to apply for XAT 2008.

6. I am in the final year of my graduation, am I eligible to take XAT for applying to XLRI or other 35 XLRI associated Management Institutes? Yes, you are eligible for admission to XLRI. You need to complete your final year examination by June 5, 2008. Other XAT Members Institutes may have a different date regarding the completion of the final examination.

7. By Buying and filling in the XAT form, am I eligible for XLRI and other Institutes? The XAT is a common test for admission into academic programmes of XLRI and 41 other Institutes (refer XAT member Institutes in the home page). However if you are interested in XLRI or other XAT member Institutes, you need to obtain their prospectus and register for the concerned Institute.

8. How many Centre are there for the Test? There are 31 cities in which XAT exam shall be conducted. In Metros and large cities there will be multiple Test Centre.

9. Can I change my Test City / Mailing Address details after applying the online in filling of the form? Yes, you can make any modifications on or before November 30, 2007.

10. When shall I receive the XAT 2008 Admit Card? You can download your admit card from our website www.xlri.edu any time during December 25, 2007 – January 5, 2008. XAT office will not be sending admit cards to any candidates.

11. When do I get to know the Centre address for XAT 2008? You can visit our website xlri.edu any time during December 26, 2007 – January 5, 2008 to know about the Centre.

12. What time do I report to the test Centre? You are expected to reach the Test Centre before 9 am on the day of the test. This will help you to locate your seat and give you sometime to reflect.

13. What is the duration of the test? The test will be of 2 ½ hours i.e. from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm.

14. What is the kind of Test and what are the different components? The test is of multiple choice type which will be of 2 hours duration followed by an essay test which is of 20 minutes duration.
