2. HOW TO APPLY for MAT EXAM :

To obtain MAT Bulletin and Application Form by post, send a Demand Draft of Rs.1050/- to AIMA-CMS, drawn in favor of “All India Management Association” payable at New Delhi along with two self-addressed slips/adhesive stickers. NOTE: - Forms with Bulletins for 03 May 2009 MAT will be available for sale from first week of March 2009. Details of Participating Management Institute, Test Centre Cities and Sales Outlets will also be available from first week of March 2009.

· Candidates may also view/download the MAT Score from AIMA website http://www.aima-ind.org/ after 3 weeks from the date of the test.

MAT Score is acceptable even to certain other Institutes for considering admission of candidates for Post Graduate Degree / Diploma programmes, besides the above Institutes, subject to specific cut-off marks and other admission parameters.

MAT - Frequently Asked Questions

Q. When & how many times MAT is conducted in a year? Qualification & percentage needed for it.

A. Mat is usually conducted 4 times in a year in February, May, September and December. The minimum qualification for appearing in MAT is graduation in any discipline from any recognized University or equivalent recognized degree. A final year student in any undergraduate (i.e. B.A, B.Sc., B.Com., B.Tech., etc) can also appear provisionally. Usually, there is a minimum percentage requirement in graduation, which is different for different MIs/University. For this refer to the prospectus of the particular MIs/University.

Q. How many Management Institutes participate in MAT. Do they keep on changing or remain the same? Is there a same admission criterion for each & every Institute? Are they recognized, by AICTE? Do they have hostel facility? What about the total fee?

A. The number of participating Management Institutes may vary. The number of MI’s keeps on changing from test to test. Admission criteria for every institute is different. All MIs participating in MAT are either AICTE approved or affiliated to some Universities, for further information you may contact the MIs/Universities of your choice. The list of various Management Institutes /Universities is available in MAT bulletin along with the admission notification. It may be worthwhile to go through the brochure of the Management Institutes for detailed information.

Q. What is the cost of the Bulletin? The DD, which is to be made, should be in whose favor?

A. At Present the cost of a MAT bulletin is Rs. 980/- by cash across the AIMA, New Delhi counter/ Select UTI Bank branches/ AIMA Nodal Centres all over India and Rs.1050/- against Demand Draft (DD) by post. DD should be made in favor of AIMA-CMS, payable at New Delhi.

Q. What is the validity of MAT score?

A. Validity of the MAT score is for that particular session for most Management Institutes, but for AIMA-CME’s PGDM & PGDITM programmes, the score is valid for one year. For more detail, please visit our website:- www.aima-ind.org

Q. What is the last date of submitting filled in MAT OMR Form?

A. Last date for submission is mentioned in the MAT bulletin. The last date also appears in the notification released by AIMA in various national & regional newspapers.

Q. Do applicant has to buy the prospectus of the MI’s opted by him/her?

A. For applying to MI’s it is suggested that the prospectus of the MI’s opted should be bought.

Q. Is MAT held all over the country what about a person living abroad? Can he/she apply for it?

A. MAT is conducted in all major cities in the country and in leading cities abroad. For further clarification, see MAT bulletin or contact our information centre.

Q. Do we get a separate Admit Card for appearing in MAT?

A. Candidate has to download his/her admit card from aima website 7 days before the Test Date with the registration form number. No separate admit card is mailed to candidate.

Q. Is there any age bar for it? Any Job experience required, to appear in MAT?

A. There is no age bar. Job experience is not necessary.

Q. Is appearance in MAT necessary for getting admission into PGDM/ MBA programme ?

A. Yes, MAT is necessary for admission into PGDM / equivalent programmes offered by AIMA or other MIs who participate in it.

"400 management institutes are participating in MAT this time." as per All India Management Association. AIMA conducts MAT 4 times in a year in the months of February, May, September and December where lakhs of students avail of this test every year.The objective of MAT is to assess the potential of a candidate to pursue a management programme. Towards that end, the paper tests the verbal ability, numerical ability and logical thinking of candidates.
The exam will be held in over 90 cities including Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad and others.
